Considering Missions?
No matter where you are in your life, you should consider missions. If you are a child, teenager, or adult and considering full-time missions, here are some steps we recommend you take.
Work on your personal walk with God
Start preparing now to become the person you want to be in the future. You have to work on your spiritual walk before you can go overseas and reach others with the gospel. Start by reading your Bible daily, spending time in prayer and growing daily in your walk with God.
Take seriously the command of the Great Commission
Start right now by reaching out into your community with the gospel. Look for ways to share the gospel and for people to disciple right now. If there are Muslims in your neighborhood or school reach out to them. Start an outreach from your church to reach Muslims and others from all over the world. If you are not willing to reach them here in the United States, going overseas will not change that.
Attend mission-minded events hosted by Vision Baptist Missions
Each year we have two big events the Our Generation Camp and the Our Generation Summit, that will help you learn our philosophy of missions and let you meet more missionaries to the Muslim world and all around the world. Go on a Missions Trip
Going on a mission trip will completely change your life! It will give you the opportunity to come to see the Muslim world and see the great need all around the world. It will give you the hands-on opportunity of working with and inside a Muslim majority country. Come take a missions trip and see how God could use you to reach the Muslim world with the gospel. Consider attending the “Our Generation Training Center”
If you are wanting to be a missionary, you should want to get the best missions training possible. The Our Generation Training Center is the Navy Seals of missions training. If you are going to take the gospel to the Muslim world, you need the best training you can get and at the Our Generation Training Center, you get that by life on life discipleship and training! Do I need training if I am going to be a missionary?
We believe that it is vital to get the proper training to be a missionary in the Muslim world. We are not about being covert or teaching English to get into a Muslim country. We are about planting churches and training men. The only way you will be able to do this effectively is through the proper training. That training will only come from the Our Generation Training Center where you will learn the following:
How to train leaders of leaders
How to do life-on-life discipleship
How to be mentored and become a mentor
How to plant an indigenous Baptist Church
How to leave a lasting ministry
We desire to see God use you to reach the Muslim world and the whole world with the gospel!
What if I don’t end up going as a missionary?
If you are not lead to be a missionary yourself, then you should become a missionary- sender. We realize that not everyone will give their lives to missions, but we need people back in the states to help us raise up more laborers and also hold the ropes as others go!
A missionary-sender is a Christian who is equally as dedicated as the missionary and gets involved through sending or helping missionaries get to serve on the field (as they faithfully serve in their local church). Here are three areas where, you, as a sender, can be involved:
Pray
Pray for missionaries and their families by name. Stay in communication with the missionaries through their blogs, prayer letters, and phone calls to know how to pray and to encourage them. Take an interest in their ministry and join the journey with them.
Give
Full-time missionaries are able to serve in a full-time capacity because of those who graciously give to the work of the Lord. Find a missionary or project to help fund and get involved with one-time gifts or monthly support.
Missions Trip
Take a short-term trip to a Muslim country to visit the missionary or organize your local church to take a trip that not only will encourage the missionary but hopefully, see more people mobilized to become missionaries and senders.
